I was laughing with my friend the other day because she said that box braids on natural hair can be considered an urban myth or legend…lol.
Her reasoning behind the statement was because most of the time you hear the words braids with a black women you can expect some kind of weave to be mentioned as well. That statement goes a little lighter when you say cornrows because that’s usually their own hair.
Therefore mentioning boxed braids on a black woman wearing her natural was rare due to the fact of the general public not seeing them as long as what you see in the picture above.
Well I’m here to say that it’s NOT a myth or legend but truly real and there are hundreds of African American women who have long natural hair and can braid, cornrow or blow it out for an amazing look.
