Last night Lauryn Hill afro was rockin’ at the 2010 “A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson” event in NYC. Lauryn Hill has been wearing her natural thirsty roots for years and she continues to rock an afro and other natural hairstyles today, whether its a wig or not, I like it. I remember when she wore her dreadlocks, I thought she looked naturally divine, and I love to see her style.
I totally agree, I simply say Love you some You. Peace
I’m a white southern girl who just watched GOOD HAIR with Chris Rock. It was so insightful and sad. I know I have the silky wavy hair. But Just had to look up natural ethnic hair and I love the styles here and consider them professional (something mentioned in the video). Please don’t make children feel they have to put chemicals on their scalps, adult’s either. I love the braids and curls and what the video called nappy hair, not so much the huge afro. Go natural!!!! Let your men have fun with your hair. Have more time and money for other things. And live a more healthy life not bombarding our wonderful bodies with extra chemicals. Am I wrong with my thinking? I just had to share this with someone after watching the documentary.
Thanks, Martie
Martie,
You are so not wrong for thinking that way. That’s why here at Thirsty Roots we want to educate and share with society that natural hair is beautiful. We so want the children to know it also. We have to work together to spread the word that “Good Hair” is “Healthy Hair”. It is a preference on how you choose to wear your hair, we just hope that you educate yourself on how to take care of it in whatever state its in. Thanks for your comment.
