Finding the best rinse for natural african american hair, will really enhance you natural hair texture. For African American women, keeping your hair natural can actually be harder than it sounds.  That is because the aisles of beauty stores are stocked with products that say they will help to give you beautiful hair but actually just coat your hair with chemicals and additives that weight it down and make it dull.  That is why you need to spend some time finding out what are the best natural hair care products for your hair.  For instance, if you want to alter the color of your hair, you might think that the only thing that you can do is use a permanent color that is full of ammonia and peroxide.  This, of course, is not the case.  There are actually a full line of natural hair rinses that are great for boosting your color or hiding grey hair.  Read below for more information about the best rinse for natural African American hair.

If you want to color your hair, a rinse might be the best option for you.  A rinse is a dye that coats your hair but doesn’t use chemicals to break down the structure of your hair so that the dye molecules can adhere themselves to the shaft.  Think of dyes as a tattoo and the rinses as a temporary tattoo.  Rinses will not stay in your hair very long.  Usually they need to be reapplied after a couple of washings.  Also, they might rub off on your clothes, depending on the brand.  As you find the perfect rinse for you, you can apply a little bit to a section on the underside of your hair.  Lightly rub your hair with a cloth to see if the rinse comes off and then wait a few hours to see if the rinse makes your hair feel brittle.  Right away you should avoid rinses that list alcohol as one of their main ingredients.  These are sure to dry out your hair in a bad way.

Many women have found the rinses by Clairol to be very effective.  They come in a wide range of colors, from honey brown all the way to smoky black.  They will last through two or three hair washes and they shouldn’t come off on your clothes.  While everyone’s hair is different, if you are on the hunt for the best rinse for natural African American hair, using the line of rinses from Clairol is a good place to start.

I would like you to add henna to your site as a natural form of coloring. I don’t think Black women on certain medication realize what havoc commercial hair dye wreak on their hair. Would be nice to see something on natural hair colors. Thanks.

I agree with Jennifer. Use Henna and stop using commercial hair dyes.

As much as I like that henna is natural it comes in limited colors. I don’t look nice with black or reddish brown hair. So until I see other colors, im not too sure henna should be on the list.
