This is the performance line up of bet black girls rock award show. BET is teaming up with Black Girls Rock! Inc and broadcasting the event which highlights the accomplishments and achievements of extraordinary women of color who have made outstanding contributions and positive stances in their communities. The founder of Black Girls Rock! Inc is Beverly Bond a Disc Jockey (DJ) and fashion model who stated, “I started Black Girls Rock! as a reaction to what I was seeing – the one-sided imagery of women of color in media and videos and hip hop.”
Since 2006, BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to the healthy development of young women and girls. BLACK GIRLS ROCK! Inc. seeks to build the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, and helping them to empower themselves.
