As the official Media Sponsor for ‘Fro Fashion Week Spring 2012, Thirsty Roots had a great time once again enjoying some of the workshops, the Penthouse Party, and the fabulous ‘Fro Fashion Show. The two day conference at Hotel Melia in Atlanta, GA, was educational and entertaining showcasing natural hair. Attendees were able to be up close and personal with bloggers, beauty brands, and celebrities.
A new natural hair product brand, Beautiful Textures, hosted a beauty lounge with natural hair blogger Maeling Tapp of NaturalChica.com and celebrity hair stylist Felicia Leatherwood of LovingYourHairWithNaturalCare.com, while giving away products, sharing hair styling tips and demonstrations.

The Bloggers, Brand, and Brunch was enlightening with the keynote speaker, Patrice Yursik, of Afrobella.com sharing insights of her blogging experiences. The room was filled with beauty bloggers, representatives for beauty brands such as Cyntelia Abrams from Design Essentials, Chimole Williams from Shea Moisture, Jeanelle Darden from Coco Curls, Jessica McGuinty from Jessicurl, Shaun Roney from Curls, etc., and celebrities such as Felicia Leatherwood and Kim Coles.
Hosted by talented actress/comedian Kim Coles, the Penthouse Party was a blast! Women and men were grooving to the melody mixes of DJ Spontaneous while sipping on cocktails and ‘Frotinis from the bar by and emerging Atlanta brand Cayrum.
The Grande Finale ‘Fro Fashion Show ended the conference with a bang. Just like ‘Fro Fashion Week Fall 2011, there was a line up of full figured collections, swimsuit fashions, and an added surprise, men African inspired apparel. Of course the hairstyles were top notch designs, funky, and sexy.
