Comb detangling curly hair is not the way to detangle if the combing is done with a small tooth. The reason is it pulls out the follicles from the root. A Denman brush is the number one way to but a wide toothed comb is also used by many women who are seasoned.
Black hair grows in a curled pattern from the scalp and overlaps one another which is what causes the tangle in the first place. The best way to detangle your hair is to really use your fingers if you are up to that.
