Cornrows

cornrows grow hair

So do cornrows grow hair or is this an urban myth that was made up by women who braid from home? Well the answer may be surprising to some because it’s YES.

How is not rocket science though…lol. Remember that cornrows and braids are a protective hairstyle so that means they protect the ends of your hair from being split or damaged. Human hair grows an average of 6 inches per year or half an inch per month. That means you have to find the best ways to keep those inches and cornrows is a great way to accomplish this. Therefore, the answer to this question is yes by grounds of hairstyle selection and not science…hahaha.

  • I don’t really think it helps with growth, but it helps to retain length from all the combing, flat iron, and other things that can harm your hair. I agree, when you stated that it protect the ends. It is an awesome protective style and I’m loving it. 😉
