Dreadlocks

dreadlocks grow faster

So what can make your dreadlocks grow faster without trying what has been rumored to work. There are many things on the market for black hair and some work better than others. Dreads require much more maintenance so how can you grow them fast without damaging your hair and keeping it healthy?

Rumor: Dreads damage your scalp and can lead to thinning hair.
Fact: If cared for using the proper methods and products dreadlocks are actualy a very heathly hairstyle. Natural dreads do not require the use of any chemical processes making them better for your scalp than any hair style that requires your hair to be chemically permed or straightened. The residue free soaps that dreadlocks are washed in actually increase hair growth and cause hair to grow thicker and faster by removing residue from the hair folicles.

  • In response to L’s question about a residue free lock shampoo.
I have been using Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint soap for years and have had great results.

You can find it at various stores such as health food stores and I have seen it in Target.

  • I recommend Dr. Bonner’s castille miracle soap in almond scent and pepppermint. There are several scents (the lemon isn’t too bad either).
These can be found on the website directl or at a local natural food store. You can wash your hair and body as well. It’s light, all natural and doesn’t strip the hair.
