  • Thank you so much for this article highlighting black men with dreads. My fiance recently decided that he is going to start his journey. I can’t wait to show him this when I get home. =)

  • This page is very helpful when it comes to different hair styles for men with Dreads. Thank you.

  • so often ppl are judged for having locks, and i have been encouraging my bf to continue to grow them (he has been for over 10 years) I think they are beautiful 🙂

  • I am glad to see other brothers locs, and gives me inspiration to keep growing mine. Needless to say I have gottne more positive feedback from other Non-Blacks then I have from black people. SMH

  • this has helped to much seeing how many men have locks i have been growing mine for 4 years

  • Props…good to see positivity towards brothers that rock dreads…just read about how the dean of hampton u’s business schoold banned cornrows and dreads for men…a lot of conformists (blacks) agreed with the move

I thought we werent’ supposed to judge a book by it’s cover?

Thanks for the pics…now i can show my stylist what i’m talkin’ about…lol

  • Hello, trust me on this one. I have been growing my locks for 3 years. and they have grown more in the last year then they have in the 1st two combined. reason being i was doing everything wrong. first of all. dont ever interlock yur hair. its almost like taking a ten foot rope and tying it in big knots over and over again. when your done that rope will be four feet long…tops! and interlocking also causes hair loss, thin dreads, and locs that are hard as a rock. dont put stuff in your hair. LEAVE IT ALONE! Get it re-twisted with gel every 2-4 months. no wax…ever. every month get your scalp messaged with essential oils. and your locs will be shiny, strong, and past your shoulders in 3-4 years. Good luck with your journey my friend . one Love -Raydio
