I think what they are doing is commendable to make it a franchise opportunity is wonderful. I have been wanting to start my own shop lately and this would definitely be a great way to get started.

I know you mentioned on your show about Lil Kim’s salon, Salon Se Swa in Charlotte, NC. I need to give you the 4-1-1 on her crazy cousin, Katrise Jones who co-owned Salon Se Swa. First of all, Katrise does NOT pay her employees and she is in so much debt that she hasn’t even paid her rent at the salon or her house. Which I hear she moved out in the middle of the night owing the landlord over $15,000. Poor Lil Kim trusted Katrise as so many others and Lil Kim needs to run the other way. I met Lil Kim and she is an innocent person in this mess that Katrise made.
Katrise is a fraud and owes over $60, 000 to people including employees, rents on her “shops”, her fabulous Range Rover. Girl, this hefer is bad news and EVERYONE from drug dealers to innocent people are looking for her to get their money. Like I said, Lil Kim clearly didn’t know anything about this or about how Katrise Jones really is. Also, Katrise came to Charlotte about 4 years ago because she did this same thing in Raleigh.

PLEASE DONT WORK AT ANY SALON SE SWA!!! Being a former employee, I must say that the concept is a good one, but what does it mean when you work long hours and come pay day your money is not there because the owner Katrice Jones has opened another salon with your paycheck?! It is a shame that the commission is 60/40 and she takes 100% of the money and tell you to take her to court for your 40%. I have been behind the scene when the towels are dirty and the shampoo techs are told to use them anyway. I have seen times when the supples are not there, as simple as shampoo and they go to the department store and buy pantene and put it in professional bottles to fool the clients into thinking that they are getting something other then. She has been arrested for writting bad checks to staff and to distributors who provide services to her. Just look at google and see all of the complaints this owner has. I feel sorry for Lil Kim who did no research or who did not consult with staff before she because a business partner with the on the record thief. Those of you who give this shop a good review, please know that your stylist can be in ANY kind of mood on ANY given day, because she or he has not been paid and has not seen nor heard from the owner for days!
ATTENTION: If you are new coming out of school or anyone considering employment with SALON SE SWA do not work for this Company they do not pay their employees for the work that they do. I only work 1 week, thank God. Otherwise that would be way more money that she owes me right now It has been almost 2 months since being employed there and have yet to see pay. I got the run around and no definate answers as to anything in regards to being paid. The owner is unreachable and that I do not understand. How can you be an owner of an establishment and when trouble arise, you are nowhere to be found for over a month? Sounds like crap to me. I still have yet to be paid. And her brother Nick is also just as bad as she is. Very unprofessional. He told me he would choke me out just because I demanded my pay after 2 whole months, I let him know that I would take this issue further and he told me to do what i had to do. WTF??????
I am not the only one who apprantly has come into this type of trouble with this company. Check out the many employee reviews. Also check out criminal checks of the owner and history, before deciding to give this company your time and effort, as you may be one who do not get paid. They pay in cash under the table which could explain the nonchalant and passive concern about paying employees, simply because their is no proof of your employment, no checks, no direct deposit no anything. Sounds to me like a scheme to be able to avoid paying all taxes on services provided and employees paid. But at your expense. If they keep the money they dont pay taxes on it. Which I guess is the plan.
For you customers, if you think you are getting excellent service for the pay, you are wrong. With every service their should be at least 3 shampooing, a cleansing shampoo, conditioning shampoo and then your conditioner. These are the proper steps to maintaing your healthy hair. This is not what you are getting. They do not even carry these proper 3 products to apply on everyones head on a daily basis if at all. Your relaxers are rushed therefor underprocessed. If you want healthy hair, go to a professional salon otherwise you will get what you pay for. Think about it how are they really making their money if you only pay $10 for a roller set. Streched products! Thats how. Are all their products really professional or can YOU yourself go out to the stores like walmart and buy them yourself? Word to the wise…..Go to a real salon every two weeks., you will pay the same as you would going to Salon Se Swa every week. Plus your hair will be much much healthier. There goal is not to make your hair last 2 weeks or more, the goal is for you to come everyweek.
