ThirstyRoots.com InstaFeature: @ange_liah shares the natural hair growth regimen she uses to grow and care for her thirsty roots. She states:
I don’t have a complicated regimen for my hair. I keep it really simple. Less for my hair is more. I experiment with other products, but these listed below are my tried & true.
A Basic Natural Hair Growth Regimen
Products:
- Herbal Essence Hello Hydration Conditioner
- Eco Styler Gel – Olive Oil
- Water mixed with Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Spritz every morning
- Jane Carter Curl Defining Cream
- Kinky Curly Knot Today
Angeliah gives a basic overview of what she does on regular basis to care for her hair. She says she only use her fingers to detangle and style her hair to minimize breakage and retain length.
I use a denman brush only after protective styling to collect shed hairs & prior to protective styling.
Her detangling routine is done under running water, while in the shower, with lots of conditioner.
Co-washing is a twice a week task unless she wears a protective style.
Trimming those ends are important if you want to retain healthy long tresses. Angeliah’s process is simple.
Step 1: Detangle
Step 2: Twist hair in small sections
Step 3: Clip the ends of each twist
Her deep conditioning routine is twice a month using the following recipes:
Deep Conditioner #1 – 30 mins – 1 hr
- 1 cup Bentonite Clay mixed with Apple Cider Vinegar & 2 tbs olive oil
Deep Conditioner #2 – 30 mins – 1 hr
- Mayo, Olive Oil, 1 Egg
This natural hair beauty is proof that with a simple regimen you can get the job done and obtain long healthy hair.
I personally don’t take any vitamins. I only drink water, which makes a difference in your hair & skin.
When I went natural I had no idea what I was doing. I just knew I was tired of raggedy weaves & permed hair.
I started out with a bc [big chop], I did not transition. It’s truly not the products, it’s the care. I’ve used plenty of different things, but always go back to the basics. I really take time with my hair, I don’t rush through it ever! That creates breakage. I don’t use heat personally. Each time I have my curls I have, my curls don’t act quite right after.
